"Alan Berger is a great person to deal with and not only does he do fantastic work, he takes a tremendous amount of pride in the finished product and most importantly, he cares about the 100% satisfaction of Bergerwerke Bicycle's customer. Whether you are in the market for one of Bergerwerke's G519 recreations or looking for the right person to trust your rebuild to, my recommendation would be to call Alan Berger. The finished product is amazing and Alan truly is an artist, making sure that every detail is addressed and that nothing but the most accurate parts and materials are used. It is obvious when dealing with Alan that Bergerwerke Bicycle and recreating the G519 is a true passion."

"I recently bought a collectors grade Columbia G519 (bwG519) from Al and I'll have to say he did a great job. The bike looks just like a WWII U.S. military bike and has lots of original military parts on it. His communication throughout the whole process was top notch and he was open to some tweaks I wanted done. It was professionally packed and shipped at a very reasonable cost. After putting it together, I took it for a spin around the neighborhood and it rode great(I didn't even have to adjust the chain). It's already been on a couple of rides with the vintage bicycle club I belong to and I get a lot of compliments from my fellow members as well as people just passing by. I highly recommend Al at Bergerwerke if you are considering a military bicycle."

"I bought a collector's grade G519 (bwG519) from Bergerwerke. I am very satisfied with the quality of the bike. The detail is outstanding and it looks just like the original! It did take a bit of time to get it but it was well worth the wait. Alan is helpful and friendly. That's more than I can say for these turds around here."

"I was the previous owner of a WW2 bike you restored for Keith Post at Uncle Stan's Military Surplus in Marion, IA.  My Father bought the bike (S/N MG48466) for me in 1948 as a child.  I have owned it ever since until I sold it to Keith.  I was completely overwhelmed at seeing it completely restored, and as it was when my Father bought it for me.  My compliments to you on the job you did.  I see that the original bikes in WW2 had tool kits behind the seat.  My bike didn't have that when I got it.  My Father did change the handlebars so I could ride it better since I was 8 years old.  I don't know what happened to it.  Also changed the headlight but I don't remember why.  Thanks again for the beautiful restoration."

"Just wanted to thank you again for the parts for my Columbia.   We plan to take it to the museum Easter weekend and will send pictures of it to you.  Please reply with an email so we may send the pics. Thanks so much."
-Jason McKenney, North Platte Nebraska

"I just received my M306 womens military bike and I am very pleased by the workmanship and the attention to detail that was put into the manufacturing of this bicycle. It is beautiful! I appreciated the documentation that came with it in the form of a WAC in a Columbia bicycle advertisement. Looks JUST LIKE the bike I now own. Thank you Alan for all of the e-mails, and phone conversations during the project."

Bergerwerke now uses TM9 Ordnance paint!

Bergerwerke has switched to a new paint for their G519 bikes and it is the best available! TM9 paint is a catalyzed urethane two-step process utilizing a special catalyst which molecularly bonds itself to the primer forming a industrial hardness similar to the epoxy baking during WW2. It is as close as one can get to the original period paint but as of right now, only available on the Premium Upgrade add-on.
